Christa M. Miller started her career in 2001 as a freelance writer specializing in public safety. Since then, she has written more than 100 articles on law enforcement topics for Law Enforcement Technology, Police & Security News, and Law Officer. Her main areas of interest include high-tech crime including digital forensics and Internet safety, law enforcement technology including computing and personal safety devices, training and education, and management issues including the balance between budget and well-trained, well-equipped officers.

In 2008, after realizing the benefits of social media for her freelance business, Christa became interested in how law enforcement could leverage it for their broader community relations strategies. On her own and in partnership with others, she thus provides public relations and marketing content to companies serving law enforcement customers, especially the digital forensics and interoperability markets. This includes social media consulting to these companies and to law enforcement agencies themselves.
